New Date

Well we are so glad that Trevor's soar throat that morning stopped the surgery.  He has a horrible cold and cough.  Can you imagine that cough right after your chest had to be opened??  Not to mention the risk of infection to his heart.  We are so thankful he had symptoms the day before and that this did not happen the day of surgery!!

 

So the bummer is he has to wait 3 weeks now :(  The tentative date is now Oct 18.  It has been very hard for the entire family to completely change everything we thought we would be doing this week and for the next 3-6 weeks.  But, it is for the best so we are trying to stay focused on that!

 

Yesterday we went to San Francisco for the day.  Dest and Vince had the day off work and the kids had arranged to miss school.  Even though Trev did not feel well, we hopped in the car and went to SF.  It was what we all needed China Town and Pier 39, lunch at Hard Rock and we just had fun being together :)

The Hite's

Surgery Canceled :(

Trevor woke up with a cold this morning. We have been so careful but, he is rundown from his trip to China and trying to get things done before he is out of commission from the surgery.

The doctor canceled the surgery :( Just too big of a risk to go into this sick. So, now we wait to hear of our new surgery date. We are hoping next week but who knows.

Please pray for Trevor, he is so disappointed to have to wait and go through the build-up of this all over again. 

Also the kids, they are at school and don't even know yet but it will be hard for them to have to wait and do this again next week.

Thanks for the prayers, we need them!!!

How you can help :)

So many family and friends have asked how you can help us!

Specifics if you are going  to bring dinner:

• Anytime between 5-6 pm is great.
• Andrew is Gluten Free, any meat for him is great just can't do bread or pasta or it has to be rice pasta :)
• No Spinach or Broccoli (Trev will be on blood thinners and they have asked for him to stay away from foods high in iron)
• Keep it simple!!  We so appreciate your help but don't want you to have to go crazy doing it!!

  A table will be on our front porch, if we do not answer the door please leave it on the table :)  Please remember that Trev will be very susceptible to germs so we are going to limit the amount of coming and going at first. 

 

If you would like to visit Trev in the hospital or after, please give me a call or text me.  831-359-5146.  He would love to see all of you and the distraction will be great!  We just need to watch germs as well as Trev over doing it.

 

Please keep praying for these things:

• Trevor's peace of mind going into the surgery
• The kid's, the stress is really starting to show in them
• Our cat :(  looks like we have to put him down tomorrow.  In the grand scheme of things............  but, he is Trevor's favorite cat :(  Bad timing, and the kids are very upset.
• Again, the team doing the surgery on Thursday

One week from Trevor's Surgery

So many of you know that Trevor was diagnosed four years ago with a Aortic valve insufficiency. He has been under close watch of two amazing cardiac doctors and has now come to the decision it is time for a valve replacement. What is this??? Well, it's open heart surgery to go in and put a mechanical valve called the Onyx Valve in Trev's heart.

So here are the details:

Please pray for Trev as he mentally prepares for the surgery and recovery.

Please pray for the kids, they are nervous and not sure what to expect.

Please pray for Dr. Vial and his team to have wisdom and thoroughness.

I will update this blog often so everyone will know how he is doing :)
