Last night and this morning

The latest info Is that his gallbladder is infected. Both surgeons agree surgery is too big of a risk with his resent heart surgery and blood levels. He risk for clotting is too high. So for now we are treating with IV antibiotics and a NG tube up his nose to his stomach :(. He is hoping the tube will come out this afternoon. Please pray the infection clears and that he does not need surgery. Also pray for Trevor's frustration, he was healing so well this has been hard on him.

Here are the updates from the last 3 days :)

The internet has been barey working the last few days do I was only able yo updaye on FB but here are all of the posts :

Friday evening:

So he has a fever Dr thinks its an allergic reaction to one of the meds. He is on antibiotics already and they are doing some cultures now. He also bled quiet a bit so he needed a transfusion. He was very panicky with the breathing tube in. When he woke up he almost jumped out of the bed! His nurse yelped scared her but he looked right at me and I was able to talk to ...
him and he calmed down. He was nervous at first when he could talk because he heard he had a fever, he thought we where not telling him everything. But Dr Vial was still here so he talked to him for a long time and Trev felt much better.

Trevs family went back to the house and I will stay as long as I can :)

He's much more alert and drinking water now and, his heart beat looks great :)

Keep the prayers coming :)

Friday Night:

Great news!! He is really doing well :) His fever is gone, he is so much calmer and he ate some apple sauce and we even got him up to sit and then stand and he took a few steps!! Nurse was so amazed at his rapid prgress! I just got home, long day but everything looks so good.

Please pray that he sleeps well tonight and the pain stays under control. Please also pray for Andrew, Dest took him ...
in to the Dr and he has strep :( It was so sad tonight when I couldnt hug and kiss him goood night :( But he understood that we dont want his germs to get to Daddy:)

All of your texts and calls today helped me get through the rough points, I can't thank you all enough for your amazing support!!

 Saturday AM:

Quick update, he's moving out of ICU at some point today!! They took out a lot of lines this morning and he sat and ate in a chair for about an hour. He has a lot of pain but they are great and really helping him manage it with meds. He's in good spirits but very tired :) thanks for all the prayers :)

Saturday Afternoon:

Good but hard day..... Good, we are in a private room now!! So much quieter here. Hard, Trev has way more pain today. He walked two laps in ICU before we left and then went in a wheel chair up to his room. Took a lot out of him :( he was pretty frustrated after he took a nap that he didn't feel better but his Dr stopped by and said he's doing amazing still and his level of pain is normal.

Please pray for a good night sleep and good pain control, we tried a new med a few hours ago... Fingers crossed!

Thanks for all the texts and posts on here, I've been reading them to him and he loves it.

Your support is amazing!!

Saturday Evening:

We seem to have the pain down, he had to go back on oxygen it was to low because he was in too much pain to take deep breathes. He also had high blood sugar so he needed insulin. All in all not too bad, his body is still in shock rightfully so :) he is working on staying positive :) I am going to stay at the hospital tonight and help stay on top of the pain and deep breathing :) they are going to bring me a cot at some point :) thanks for the prayers and support and I will update you all in the morning :)

Sunday:

Today was much better :) he was in and out of bed better with less pain but still not his favorite! He had a "bath" brushed his teeth and shaved :)

He also had his chest tube removed as well as the pace maker wires. That was not a fun part of his day but he felt good about the progress.

He had a fever again today so they started him on antibiotics incase he's fighting Drew's strep, but other ...
vitals are good.

I got an hour to go home and shower see the kids and get Brens school work set for him tomorrow :)

Vince and Destiny have been an amazing blessing!! They have handled everything with the other 4 kids all weekend :) so nice to know they are all fine and I don't even have to worry!!

Grace is back from her soccer tournament tonight and will get to see Trev in a few hours, Drew has been skyping Trev every day. Other kids have all been able to see him a few times already :)

The texts and posts have been a huge encouragement. Thank you!

Please pray for pain to stay controlled and good rest tonight :)

Monday:

Another good day :) Everything looks very good at this point, he's walking a lot, vitals are good and pain is managed!

If everything keeps looking this good we go home tomorrow :)

The 3 boys are going to go to Tahoe with Trev's family, so we have a quiet home with our girls and Vince to help keep things going in the right direction for Trev's recovery. Given the option to go Ski or stay home a...
nd be quiet in the house, the boys decided Tahoe was the better choice :) the girls thought a quiet cozy few days at home sounded amazing!

Prayers we get to go home and, that Trev manages the pain while going home. It will be a tiring day for him but it will be so nice for him to be home to heal in peace :) this place is a zoo 24 hours a day!!!

Tomorrow is Surgery

We are at the hospital now doing all of the pre-op for tomorrow. Lots of information coming at us wow!! But Trevor is in a good space and just ready to get it behind him.

Tomorrow we will arrive at the hospital at 5am and then surgery will be around
7.... Depends on other cases and emergencies. He will be out of surgery around 1 or 2 pm.

I will update when I talk to the doctor.

If you are wanting to help please read my past posts regarding meals etc..... You will find Destiny's info there to coordinate.
She has set up a meal train site you can find on either mine or Dest's Facebook page or, go to mealtrain.com and look up The Hite Family.

Please pray for all of us the rest of the day and tonight to have peace and relax, especially for Trev :)

Thanks for all of your prayers and support!

Another change in plans...............

So in getting everything ready for Trev's new surgery date we came across some insurance issues. Some of you know Trev had his last day at his job on Sep 28th the day after the original surgery date. Because he was not able to have surgery it altered a lot for us with insurance etc...

We think we have it all figured out, but not all worked out yet so....... we wait on surgery to have everything finalized. Trev is also still coughing and not 100% better from his cold, he's close but not close enough for surgery.

We talked with the surgeon and he agreed waiting and getting everything settled and healthy is best. The surgery is still consider elective based on Trev's lack of symptoms so waiting is not harmful to him.

So the new date is November 16.

In all of this crazy time we had decided we need to sell the condo we own with my parents in Maui. We where so bummed because we figured we would miss our chance to go one last time with the kids because Trev couldn't travel. While Trev was on the phone with the nurse canceling and re-scheduling I hopped on Hawaiian Air, tickets where $260 each!! We have all been putting change and cash in a box for a year now and we had very close to what the total for the tickets came too, and our condo was open the dates the tickets where cheap!

So last night we told the kids we where postponing, Grace burst into tears, Bren threw his fork, Park and Drew just stared at us. Grace instantly figured out he would most likely still be in the hospital for Thanksgiving, and not up for much at Christmas.

Trevor quickly told the kids he had other news, we had to get Grace back to the table she had run to her room :(

So he proceeded to tell them we had their Christmas gifts already, they all looked very confused..... then he said we are going to Maui for 10 days :) They all started screaming!! They couldn't believe it! So we will get in a great family trip now before the surgery and the kids are thrilled! Grace even said to Trev she was sad he had to wait but not as sad anymore :)  Destiny and Vince are even coming for 5 of the days!!

So once again a change of plans, but we are all so excited that we will get in some much needed family time, and in Maui!!

Thanks again for all of your support and prayers!

New Date

Well we are so glad that Trevor's soar throat that morning stopped the surgery.  He has a horrible cold and cough.  Can you imagine that cough right after your chest had to be opened??  Not to mention the risk of infection to his heart.  We are so thankful he had symptoms the day before and that this did not happen the day of surgery!!

So the bummer is he has to wait 3 weeks now :(  The tentative date is now Oct 18.  It has been very hard for the entire family to completely change everything we thought we would be doing this week and for the next 3-6 weeks.  But, it is for the best so we are trying to stay focused on that!

Yesterday we went to San Francisco for the day.  Dest and Vince had the day off work and the kids had arranged to miss school.  Even though Trev did not feel well, we hopped in the car and went to SF.  It was what we all needed China Town and Pier 39, lunch at Hard Rock and we just had fun being together :)

Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayer!!
